Should Amorphous Egg Group be its own type?

While Amorphous technically covers for two major types,  Poison and Ghost, most of the members in Amorphous are mono-type and mono-Egg Group, with some like Tynamo-line being incapable of having Egg Moves, or like Rotom don't have genders. So, if an Amorphous Type were to be invented, it would boost both the Egg Group at large, as well as individual members. There are also few goopy monsters like Tentacool-line and Goomy-line that don't exist in the Amorphous Group. There are a few issues, though:

  1. Amorphous Egg Group is one of the driest Egg Groups in the franchise, rivaled only by Mineral, which is larger but filled with genderless monsters.
  2. There really isn't a common move for Amorphous Group besides Acid Armor, which is already Poison-type and various Ghost-type moves.
  3. It is hard to create a common type interaction besides abusing the JRPG slime archetype, which generally doesn't have its own class or race in any major Mon franchise.
However, there are a few benefits:
  1. It gives a reason for Slug-based Pokémon to be Bug-type without being in the Amorphous group. Same goes for mollusks in Water-type.
  2. It buffs a bunch of Pokémon substantially.
  3. It allows more synthetic and alchemical designs.
Some ideas for this type could be:
  1. Slugs and mollusks are a must for this type to become an actual type. Sponges and single celled organisms can also work.
  2. Various slime monsters can serve as inspiration. This would also buff up Amorphous Egg Group's moveset variance. Various shapeshifters can also belong in this type.
  3. It would allow Poison-type to focus more on reptilian and organic species, whereas Ghost can work on actual undead Pokémon, like zombies, skulls etc. Bug-type can also focus on actual insects instead of just creepy crawlers.
  4. It gives us a "Synth" type while being consistent with the franchise.
Possible type interactions would be:
  1. Most slime monsters resist physical moves while being weak to magic attacks. In Pokémon, this can be turned into a resistance to Fighting, Steel and Rock, and a weakness towards Psychic, Fairy and Ghost.
  2. Slime monsters tend to recover health quickly, which can give this type lots of leeching and recovery options. Some slime monsters also heal their allies, which can be turned into a clerical moveset.
  3. Slime monsters also tend to run away, which can give this type same immunity to trapping as Ghost-types.
  4. Alternatively, Slime monsters appear in dark areas, so they can resist Poison, Dark and/or Ghost.
Possible retypes include:
  1. Regular Grimer/Muk
  2. Koffing/Weezing
  3. Misdreavus/Mismagius
  4. Wynaut/Wobbuffet
  5. Slugma

  1. Ditto
  2. Vanillite/Vanillish/Vanilluxe
  3. Shelmet/Accelgor
  4. Goomy/Sliggoo/Goodra
  5. Trubbish/Garbodor
Possible retyped moves include:
  1. Reflect Type
Other possible ones include:
  1. Acid Armor (already Poison, so unlikely)
  2. Recycle
  3. Pain Split (based off a Sumo Wrestling move, so unlikely)
