Gen XX
- Console: Tentatively Nintendo Switch's sixth successor. As Switch's fate as a handheld remains dubious, I am going to put this as tentative.
- Year: 2055-2056. 2055 is if Switch is released in 2017. 2056 is if Nintendo has a real successor to 3DS in 2018.
- Location basis: From most likely to least likely:
- Bulgaria: Hey, south slavs! They are doing a bit economically better, so they would be fitting.
- Croatia: They actually have burgeoning video game community, and Pokémon has some presence here.
- Slovakia: Same as above. They are economically better, while being culturally worse.
- Slovenia: Glory for Slavoj Zizek and ideals of socialism, I guess.
- Dex structure. Either around 65 Pokémon and 35 new forms, or a 90-100 new species. There will almost certainly going to be new means of providing de-facto evolutions, whether they are new forms or something else, as this an even generation.
- New field move: Another non-elemental field move should be created, but it is hard to predict what it will be.
- Less variants, more phases:At this point onward, species with existing form changes should have more forms with stat differences and moveset changes but not type differences in addition to existing ones, similar to Digimon's Modes.
- Anything else?: Repel mechanics should be streamlined, with player now controlling encounter rates through a key item or a menu option, just like in dungeon crawlers. Escape Rope should be either a key item or be replaced by a key item or menu option. Conventional repels will be removed from the series.
