The idea of a Food-type has been around as a joke type for a while now, with its various variations. But in the recent years it has become an actual suggestion.
2.Where does this name come from?
Original incarnations of this type would focus on a specific food, like candies or desserts. But as a general type it is similar to the Food-type in Digimon.
3. Does this type have an in-game source?
Sort of, there are a few food-based species like Swirlix, and there are few Abilities like Sweet Veil and Gluttony. In terms of moves outside of Seed-based moves we have Sweet Scent.
4. What would be the ideas behind such a type?
To eat or to be eaten, basically. This type would be a dumping ground for many cutemons based on foods, similar to Madolche archetype in YGO. It would also be a dumping ground for fatmons like Snorlax and Lickilicky.
5. What would be the type interactions of such a type?
There are few conceptualizations, but TipsyRa1d3n's conceptualization can give one a good idea.
6. What would be the distribution of such a type?
It would be similar to Fairy. Many early game species would have it, but it would be distributed to a limited amount of species that just happen to appear a lot.
7. Future comments:
Should this type be a thing, it would be an easily merchandisable type, because Pokémon franchise can now work with restaurants to create lifelike versions of these species. Not to mention, they would likely be very popular with girls and the Internet as a whole.
